Please join me for a special edition Webinar presentation on Friday 4/5 at 6 PM ET. It will feature a comprehensive examination of the Francis Scott Key Bridge disaster of March 26, 2024. Included will be a discussion of the history of the bridge, the circumstances surrounding its collapse, and the immediate recovery and salvage efforts already underway. We'll also be looking ahead at what to expect from a potential future replacement crossing over the next few years.

As a companion piece to mark the release of "Road Meets, An Illustrated History, 1999-2024" on Saturday, May 11, I will be hosting a live Webinar/Discussion about the book and its related projects on the roadwaywiz YouTube channel on that afternoon, beginning at 5 PM ET. It'll be your opportunity to have your questions about the project answered in an informal setting and you'll also get to learn more about the in's and out's of the research that went into this project and book. We'll also be discussing some of the trends that were discovered when it comes to the statistics of these events over the years, so it should be a fun little way to cap off the last six months of work!

Happy New Year, folks! The first order of business for the channel in 2025 is to put a cap on what was a very successful and productive 2024.

For this weekend's Webinar presentation, we take a look back at the year 2024 and recap the channel's activity and trips during this past year. I'll also be looking ahead to a couple of things you can expect to see on the channel in the coming weeks and months, such as planned trips and road meets.

Coverage will begin on Saturday (1/4) at 6 PM ET; we hope to see you there!

Due to my increasingly busy schedule on weekends this winter, I've decided to try pre-recording some of my Webinar programs ahead of time and publishing them after the fact. The first example of this, effectively a 'dry run' video featuring a small city with not a ton to discuss, is being released today on the channel; it is likely to be the first of several episodes recorded in this manner and I hope that this is a way to "keep in touch" as my workload varies as time goes on.

All of the pre-recorded videos will find their way onto the "Webinars" playlist on the channel, so if you want to check in to see what you might have missed (as well as browse through the variety of content produced over the last few years), be sure to have a look at that page every once in a while.

The next episode in this winter's webinar series premieres on Saturday (1/18) at 7 PM ET and focuses on Mobile, AL and the Alabama Gulf Coast region. Among the topics discussed are the upcoming Mobile River & Bayway project, an unfinished downtown/riverfront freeway, and a little-known neighborhood on the north side of town whose residents are the descendants of the last known American slave ship.

Come join me and members of the AARoads community as we profile Interstate 4 across central Florida and discuss the history and features of this highway all while enjoying a real-time video trip along the length of one of central Florida's most important highways.

Saturday evening's I-4 Virtual Tour episode was fraught with internet connection issues, so I edited out the original visuals, swapping in the original video file, while keeping the original live audio. Pretty unfortunate situation, but I think it's been rectified as well as possible. The 2.0 version of this episode is now available at the link below:
