When we are actually free to leave our states again, it really will be historic and worthy of posting to this thread!
Who isn't free to leave their state? Even those who've been placed under "shelter in place" orders (California and Illinois that I know of) are allowing exceptions for outdoor recreation. What's stopping someone from heading to another state?
Social stigma of being a spreader.

That, and the further you are from a state line, the less likely you can just drive there for the sake of driving without overnighting.
Take Laredo, TX as an extreme example: how could you possibly hit any other states from there on a day trip?
In my case, yeah, technically I *could* jump in the car and drive 2 hours to PA just for the sake of it, but it's just not happening at this point.

Pennsylvania is still keeping lodging open as an essential business.

You're not going to know any of the people you encounter, so who cares what they think?

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

A week ago, I took a short day trip down to Arkansas. I left and re-entered Missouri on US 65.

A week later, Arkansas bans out of state travelers from renting hotels, AirBNBs, and other lodging services (with exceptions).

I haven't left the state in ages. Probably MA/NH 12 to go to a church retreat.

300 feet? You could just go out and take a short walk if you have any desire to leave the state.

I'd guess the amenities of Lansing, IL just don't provide much attraction for him to do that.

That's taking shelter-in-place to level 9000 right there...

The places I go to on the other side of the line are stores and restaurants that are all closed right now.  The only place I frequent that is open is the hardware store but they are offering rewards members free delivery so I've been using that.

If I lived that close to a state line, I'd definitely be walking across just to say I did it.
Of course, I live a solid 2 hours from a state line, and in fact Canada is closer than any other state.

I work not far from a county line, but I guess I haven't crossed it much recently. In fact, I'm not sure I've left my home county since early March. March 7th is the last time I definitively remember leaving the county.

Highway63

July: Out on US 63 south of Bloomfield, in on I-80 at Council Bluffs
August: Out on IA 15 north of Armstrong, in on M27 north of Lake Park
Fall: Out on I-80 at the Quad Cities, in on MO/IA 27

Since Jan. 16 I have only been in three counties.

In retrospect, of course, I am glad I got all the trips in 2019 in that I did.

I had to check my Google Maps timeline on this one. I haven't left MA since February 21, entering and exiting VT on I-91.

this year I left on I 64 east and reentered on I 71/75 south. an approximately 3500 mile road trip that crossed itself 3 times through new england and the mid atlantic states.

Flint1979

Last time I left Michigan I did so on US-45 and rentered on I-94.

On my most recent trip, left on I-81 and re-entered on I-99.

My last out-of-state travel was a 24-hour trip to New Orleans in November (my friend managed to score some free tickets to an NFL game), so it was I-10 across the Texas—Louisiana line both ways.

Perhaps more interesting is my previous out-of-state trip: I exited Texas and entered New Mexico via I-10, but flew back. Technically, the road via which I reentered was the runway at SAT.

My last trip out had me both enter and leave New Hampshire on US 3.

Last trip out of Washington I left and returned via I-205.

I did road trips out of state a couple of times a year, but that was in the Before Time.

US 89

Left Utah on I-15 into Idaho, came back from Wyoming on I-80.

Back on Monday, I escaped Ohio via I-471 SB into Kentucky only to return to Ohio later that day via I-70 EB from Richmond, Indiana.
