Except, I live in Oklahoma where they use the sucky kind that are embedded in the road, and no bott dots. Where can I get one? Can I just email odor and ask them for 1? Or do I have to pay $100 dollars for 1 on the internet?

My preferences:

Green (idk what they are for tho)
Blue
Red/white
Red
Yellow
Yellow/red
White

Do they have any other colors?
And where can I get them? Preferably not in the middle of traffic.
I build roads on Minecraft. Like, really good roads.

I realize this is the second thread I made like this, but in the this thread is more spacific on what I want to know. Is it even legal to take one that is unstuck?

I have four on a shelf at work. They're plastic and obviously intended for temporary application, and not for permanent embedding in the pavement. I picked them up at some conference somewhere. They're branded "Ennis" so perhaps Googling that name will give you a company website, whereupon you could contact them and see if they'd send you a sample.

I had one of the embedded ones that had been knocked loose by a snowplow that I picked up off the side of the road several years ago, but I don't know what became of it. The metal casing and chunk of asphalt made it a lot heavier than just plastic (Stimsonite) like my samples are.


Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Oklahoma's preferred construction marker is an L-shaped piece of plastic, the horizontal part of which is glued to the freeway and the vertical part of which is reflective. It ends up looking a lot like one of those Post-It bookmark flags. Most of the time they don't actually get removed when construction is done and they end up gradually breaking off under car tires and disappearing.

You can see a bunch of them in Norman at the moment if you're curious.

I have a irrational thought that they would do something to my car. I try to *avoid* them.

And they're helpful when it's raining going towards the sun. (The glare hides the stripes and I can see the post-it notes sticking out)

Lol I've been monitoring a repave job and just yesterday I saw one knocked off by a snowplow, just sitting there on the shoulder.  I'm in Illinois so we have the snowplow-resistant ones (they don't have a 100% success rate).  Heck, we just removed 300 of them to simply throw away!  If you come across the pavement removal crew on a repave project, just ask them for one because they'll throw them away as scraps anyway!  Though if you want a new one, get in touch with a local striping contractor and they might guide you to their suppliers.  Keep in mind the contractors will order their supplies, in bulk though (I'm assuming you don't want a whole box of 100 of them lol).

Well, I'll ask my mom if we see some construction guys if we can stop and talk to them, there is a big construction site that is problematic going to need a lot. Should I just ask my mom to pull of the road near (but not to near) som guys and ask if they have any surplus?

I have an IDOT-installed reflector lens that was popped out on one of my construction jobs.  Are you still interested in receiving one?  It wouldn't be the whole footprint; it would only be one of the lenses.  Most of the ones I found are damaged but I did manage to find one that was in pretty good shape.

Although I am still intent on getting a road reflector, I'm not sure if I can get one by mail, as I can't pay the postage fees for it. I think my best bet is to TRY and contact OkDOT. (All I have is a phone number for "Traffic Engineering Dpt. which I have called a couple times, no one picks up.) if I do contact them, should I just say, straight out that "I am a collector of road stuffs! Can you sell me something?" Anyway, thanks for the offer, and wish me luck!

That is a really cool idea.

Like you said, being in Oklahoma may make it harder to get bott's dots and good reflectors, when compared to other states, but I hope that you can get it somehow.

I sure would love to have one or both of these things as well! Maybe I can someday.  :hyper:

I could not tell ya how to get one of these things, but I definitely wish you much luck in your quest to do so.  :nod:

The postage shouldn't be more than about $10 at the worst.
