To be quite honest, some of us really do appreciate the effort and time put into making the shield generator.  It's great, and I can't wait to see what gets added to it next.  There are some I'd love to see, but I know they take time to make, so I'll appreciate what you make next, Jake.  Thanks for creating the shield generator.

Yes, you've done a great job so far.  And I think like many others probably do, that this is a labor of love for you and you'll do it when you get time.

So, please don't get too mad if some of us make requests or wonder what you're going to add next.  For me, anyway, I simply want a roadmap as to where it's going.

kinda meandering all over the place!

I just added the 1926 Maryland state highway marker.  I will be adding more Maryland state and US route signs soon, which will include about six new custom fonts (two sets - round font and block font, and several widths for each).

(the latest version, btw, is 1.03 - 1.02 works just fine, except it does not have the Maryland shield.)

and a couple of structural improvements in version 1.04 - it's now somewhat more intuitive to find the narrow and wide versions of several shield types (interstate, CA state route)

oh and in case people are wondering how on earth I chose the 1926 Maryland state route to add: someone bought one from me.  Make of that fact as you will  :sombrero:

Just uploaded version 1.07, which adds state highway markers from Alaska, Florida, and Hawaii!  :spin:

let me know if there are any bugs - especially with saving the images to your hard drive - as I did rewrite quite a bit of the code.

version 1.10.  I added a slew of classic California and Texas highway marker styles, and the correct fonts to go with them!  :sombrero:

Good to know this is still being updated. :)

Still waiting for my New York shields, though.

I can't find the new shields on there, but it says v1.10. I'm on Firefox v3.6, Windows 7.

Using Opera, it shows 1.10 but no Texas.

I don't see Texas either using Windows 7 and FF 3.6

the Texas US shields are under US shields.  I may redo the menu at some point for more intuitive navigation to state-specific US route markers...

sometime I'll put up the classic Lone Star shield and the farm/ranch route.  The square?  Good luck.  Buy ten!  :sombrero:

Besides, if you're really wanting a modern-type shield, you can probably order one from a signage contractor...

I recently uploaded Roadgeek 2005, but I haven't got a clue how to use the thing.

you mean you downloaded the zipfile containing the fonts?

here's how to install the fonts in Windows: open My Computer and go to the C:\Windows\Fonts folder, and drag and drop the individual font files within the zipfile into the Fonts folder.  That will install them.

No, it wasn't a zipfile at all. It was a regular old file folder.

So, you're saying you have all the fonts in a folder (that isn't the font folder) and unzipped on your computer?  Then all you need to do is a copy and paste into the Fonts folder in Windows to install them and use them in applications.

new additions to the shield gallery: 1961 spec button copy US shields!

including Series EM font with buttons!  I might also add 1961 spec interstate with button copy, and maybe a state route or two if I'm feeling motivated.  If I'm feeling extra crazy motivated, I'll come up with the Series DM font with buttons.

How about some Texas SH shields? Maybe you can change the 'TEXAS' to 'FM', 'LOOP', 'SPUR' or 'BELTWAY' in the Header/Footer. I wouldn't mind some NM shields and some CO shields, plus an OK Meat Cleaver.

I'm gonna do the classic Texas star and the state-outline farm road at some point.  square shields are pretty boring, though.

NM - yes, gotta add the zia as that's a nice one.  I have a lot of state shields to add... some classic Arizona, the Wyoming cowboy, Kansas sunflower, Nebraska covered wagon - all of the interesting ones!  :-D

the cleaver is a nice one but I'd have technical difficulties because of the way the border is broken behind the letters.  It would involve more coding time to do correctly than I'm willing to invest.  The classic diamond used 1924-1948 or so is available, though!  :sombrero:

Maybe the Colorado shield (the one with the state flag)? Also, can you make wide versions of the 1961 US cutout and the 1961 US Square?
Thanks

yeah, I gotta get on that wide '61 cutout.  The square never had a wide version.  If your favorite number doesn't fit in Series B, try Series A.

the Colorado shield I'm pretty indifferent towards - it's colorful but poorly designed, so it's not a priority for me.
