Ah, the open skies, wind at my back, warm sun on my... wait, where the hell am I?!
As a matter of fact, I do own the road.

Plenty of sad little coastal bluffs out there that I can think of that the normals avoid during Spring Break.  A lot of Point Reyes National Seashore comes to mind.

Yeah I didn't make it past the fault fence - and that was in October (1997)

Must've not been worth it if your parents didn't take you.  ;-)

(There are a couple recent meme references there.  Point Reyes is definitely worth seeing.)

North of SF is generally dead outside of summer. Even this past week, Point Reyes was pretty quiet, and it is 100% worth seeing. Probably one of the more stunning spots on the coast.

I don't know.  A bunch of bored city people/families?  I'd think attendance would raise somewhat during that week.

I assume the intention is the host will buy all the A's tickets and attendees will simply reimburse for theirs? Or is that going to be handled some other way.
If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

I'd imagine if we didn't arrange to buy a block that we'd end up all over the stadium. :D

The Buffalo meet had an optional minor league game.  Thanks to its low cost, the host just arranged for a box once interest was established and attendees reimbursed him beforehand to gain access.

That was more or less what I was going to look into.  Fair chance I'll have a minute to get an idea what I ticket block would cost at an oil change appointment.

Group tickets aren't available on the MLB page for the Athletics.  I will keep checking periodically to see when this opens up.  That said, it would be good to have a running count on how many we are expecting at the game.  This is the tally I have right now:

-  Me
-  My wife
-  Rothman
-  SSO
-  Duke
-  Duke's Da
-  cl94
-  kurumi

Maybe list:

-  Oscar
-  Alps

I booked a preliminary hotel room for the Friday night, so I'm in.

Noted, took the question mark off.

I'm staying up at a chain hotel on Jibboom Street.

While I think I'm currently at the same hotel as Duke on the east side of town. May move somewhere I can burn points, TBD. Either way, hotel would be both near Saturday meetup and between work and baseball, making my life easy.

My thought was that the Jibboom Street hotels are minutes away from the game.

My time off is approved for Wed 4/9 to Wed 4/16. I usually factor cushions in but I'm cutting it really close. But hey, I'm only driving 1/4 the way there, the rest is in the cattle trailer.

EDIT: and book Flighted *cough* flight booked. (and I did throw myself in the cattle car)

I am going to try to make it to the road meet (the ball game isn't really my thing, but I hope you guys have fun).

It appears that the largest group for which tickets can be bought is six.  The cheapest ticket by far is the Lawn area at $77.20 per ticket followed by Section 103 at $155.20 per ticket.  This is all through the MLB tickets page, I haven't explored much into if tickets can be obtained through another source at cheaper price.  More to come on this...

Can you split it up into two purchases?

The remaining lawn area open for tickets, Lawn 1, doesn't look great for watching the game.  And cost of seats even in sections behind home plate can still be had for below $200 each (e.g., $155 in sections 103/121 versus $192 in section 110 -- difference of $40).

Anyway, I know cost can be an issue for those who want to attend, but have to say I'd rather avoid the general admission lawn area.

Devil's always in the details. :D  Glad someone else volunteered to host this thing. :D

That's part of why I'm mentioning those prices now.  In Oakland I was getting these tickets for as low as $30 at times over the last several years.  I can certainly understand if that is too steep to see what more or less a novelty game in a weird MLB stadium.

That said, I'm sure these can be split into two purchases.  I have 30 days to pay off purchases without interest on my travel card.  So, I'll be looking to buy likely on March 12th or 13th.
