Hey everyone!
I'm a long-time roadgeek and finally decided to join the forum. I'm from upstate's finest Rochester, NY! I'm only 17 but have always an interest in roads, especially freeways, and am constantly dreaming up improvements to my local road network.
Welcome from across the Great Lakes in Ontario! I've never actually been to Rochester (only driven the Thruway past it), which is a shame since it's so close by. I'll have to go one of these days.
Welcome to the forums from the Tennessee Valley!
Welcome from Massachusetts!
As someone who grew up there, I definitely agree that Rochester is upstate's finest. Welcome.

Welcome to AARoads!
Welcome from the western suburbs of Boston!
Trying something more terse: Hello.
Only been out that way once passing by on the way to a concert at Ralph Wilson and Niagara Falls. Greetings from Central CT.
Welcome! I'm originally from "downstate" NY (i.e., NYC metro), but now live in SF.
Done bit of road geekery in upstate, especially southern tier and finger lakes areas :)
Greetings from the state of Georgia! I am 17 as well, and I, too, have dreamed up some big road-related dreams. I have been to New York City but would also like to visit upstate New York. See ya on the forum!
Hello from Northeastern Connecticut, aka mostly farms and trees... :-/
Hello from Central Florida.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can keep my account a secret anymore if I keep posting, so I have to stop.
That raises more than a few questions.

It has been a real pleasure, though, and thanks for the interesting and unforgettable experience.
Glad you enjoyed your time. We're good people, and mean well. Come back soon.
I've decided to move on from the forum for a little bit. I may come back to lurk every now and then.

I've made the decision -- and it wasn't an easy decision to make -- to move on from the forum. I may come back to lurk every now and then. But not in the near future, and I don't intend to log in or make additional (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;area=statistics;u=13942) posts.
You can count on me being a roadgeek forever, even if I'm not here sharing the enjoyment.
It has been a real pleasure. It is tough to put into words how much I've enjoyed being able to talk -- and joke and argue -- with people with similar interests. I really thought I was pretty much alone until I found this place a few short years ago. So all I can really say is thank you! May 2019 have more posts than 2018, and so on for the duration!
Nice to have you back to normal. I remember when I thought you were a troll, but you really turned it around and that makes me happy. for a great 2019!

Oh no...
I had nothing against the guy, at least I didn't after his first sabbatical (the thing when he deleted a bunch of posts that first time was weird). I don't recall what it was that caused Marf to attack him so many times.

Webny99, please consider coming back to the forum. There are many ways in which roadgeekery can be manifested and enjoyed, but you can always feel free to call this forum home.
I do understand the fascination with "special numbers" (such as the post count being exactly 2222). But my suggestion is to take screenshots or pictures of it, but then move on. It is cool, but we must keep moving forward. If circumstances call for taking a hiatus from the forum, and 2222 posts seems like a good point of closure to depart, I understand, but just remember that you can always come back. As interesting as it is, don't let a number deprive you of doing what you enjoy. You have been a great friend to me, and the whole roadgeek community is waiting here with open arms if you ever decide to come back. Please consider it, and I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

I am not intending to stick around permanently, but we shall see.
Just come and go as you please. It's not like users are either active, or inactive. If you cannot commit to the forum, then just don't post.
We all have weird schedules, and other commitments. There's no expectation that you'll be active every day of every week.
Yeah, I have logged in several times since January, just to see the user-only boards and such.
I don't mind just browsing around, but once I start posting, my time spent on here snowballs very quickly.

Oh boy, it is addicting.
Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been around the forum as much recently. That's because a number of other priorities have been taking precedence, and the next 12 months, in particular, are going to be an extremely busy and critical time in my life. I am starting to realize now more than ever that time is a valuable, underappreciated resource that I simply can't afford to waste. Because of that, I am going to be moving on from the forum, and don't expect to be active here anymore.
Before I go, I do want to apologize again for my role in the loss of visibility of the forum stats page. Unfortunately, my efforts to get the page back were unsuccessful, but I really did try, and it seems there is simply no interest from the moderators/admin. I'm very sorry about what happened, but I know I've become a better and more mature person through this experience, and I hope that I can be forgiven for it and the page can be restored someday.
My time on the forum has been a unique and surprisingly rewarding experience (though not without its frustrations) that has meant more to me than I ever would have imagined, especially in the past ~15 months. So often, there are things that a roadgeek wants to talk about and argue about in depth that just don't fit in to casual conversation with friends or family, and this is a great outlet to do just that. So thank you, everyone, for the discussion we've enjoyed, arguments we've had, jokes we've made, and photos we've shared over the past few years. I'll certainly never forget it, and with the nearly 250 threads I've left behind, you probably won't either!
I will also leave a live link to my travels in my signature, so if you're wondering what I'm up to, that might offer some clues. Rest assured I'll still be traveling as much as I can and keeping tabs on all the big road projects in my region and around the country! Cheers, and all the best!

I just want to apologize again for for how annoying I was when I first joined the forum and particularly for causing the loss of the forum stats page. I would like to think that I've been a positive contributor, but I can't say that's the case after what I caused. I truly feel so bad about it and hope my apology is accepted. :-(

I also think you're a positive contribution to the forum. Sure, the thing about no longer posting after 4444 posts or whatever was weird, as was that one time you deleted a bunch of old posts, but those are both well in the past.

Don't mind the part with the blanks - it can technically be decoded, but I highly doubt it would mean anything to anyone here.

Quote
On April 25, 2022, I became the 20th user in forum history to Like the Forum Way, Way Too Much. And then I found that there's another way...
__ _______ ___ __ _______ _____
It meant more when I was away from the forum for a bit. I'm back for now, but decided to keep the sig.
Don't mind the part with the blanks - it can technically be decoded, but I highly doubt it would mean anything to anyone here.
Don't mind the blank parts that are just part of the sig on every one of your posts? What is this, sixth grade?

Kindergarten would be generous.
And what was with the "An ode to the road bestowed" stuff under your profile?
