From KGO San Francisco:

49ers season ticket holders feel stiffed after struggling to sell more expensive seats
QuoteAfter a surprise doubling of certain 49ers season tickets last season, fans are now looking to sell, but they are finding it a lot harder than expected.

The 49ers players say the home-field advantage created by the fans makes Levi's Stadium one of the toughest places to play in the NFL.

But it's becoming more and more expensive to go.

Prices going up tends to be a thing when a team gets deep into the playoffs.

Although, the fact that I got two tickets to the NFC championship last year game for $225 I thought was pretty telling.  With some of the more dedicated fandoms out that price would have been way higher.  Levi's Stadium doesn't have the same vibe as Candlestick and struck me as kind of bland.

"...certain ticket sections being upgraded to club seats at a much higher cost..."

Yeah, that's not right. And if they're literally the same seats, I'd be a bit pissed buying a club seat yet getting the same tight plastic seat as someone gets in the cheaper seats.

I stopped caring about going to sporting events a while ago, but feel for the people who get that joy and get robbed by millionaires and billionaires that literally don't give two poops about the fans going there.

The only way I'm going to be able to go to a Dallas Cowboys game is if a magic ticket fairy gifted me some tickets. I heard the game-day parking is quite expensive, and there is absolutely no public transit alternatives out there.

Levi's Stadium shares the same parking lot as California Great America which is an amusement park that opened in 1976 (one year before my family moved to California). There is the possibility that the park will be closed by 2033 and the land redeveloped for another use. The last time I was Great America was when I was under 18 (in the 1980s) and I've only been to Levi's Stadium once for a non-49ers event. While the stadium isn't Oakland-bad, it was designed for another location and wasn't redesigned for Santa Clara, and not being able to put a roof on it is a serious detraction to attend early-season games.

Of course, JerryWorld also has a glaring design flaw in that the stadium faces North-South instead of East-West... which causes the glaring sun to blind players during afternoon games. Jerry still doesn't want to put in curtains or a wall to address this flaw.

If he did, he'll have people there opening and closing them to benefit the Cowboys.

It's hard for me to complain about ticket prices when stands are almost always full. I am perfectly willing to buy tickets for a game off the secondary market and make it an "event," but usually I am fine with just watching from home. The climate is controlled, the beer is cheaper, and I can change channels if I want.

Not at all surprising to me in that so incredibly many of the outdoor seats at Levi Stadium are on the 'sunny side of the bullring'. Those fans are roasting in there!
