With the official recommendation that the Pierce Elevated will no longer be needed for highway purposes when downtown Houston freeways are rebuilt, there are two sites proposing the preservation and reuse of the Pierce Elevated.

Pierce Sky Park is a somewhat organized effort to turn the structure into something like NYC's High Line.

Pierce Elevate Park is my web site. :-)  I think it would be a neat recreational park, so I'm just floating the idea for consideration.
