So weird to compare Wichita to Rochester.  You up by Canada just got your first snowfall of the season a day and a half ago, yet I down here in Wichita just woke up to our second snowfall of the year.  And neither one of us had any snow during the month in between!

With our second snowfall arriving last night, we've tied you up at two.  :)

Third snowfall this morning; around an inch or so and still falling... slowly...

Warm enough to walk at midday without a jacket.  Cool enough at 5 PM to require a jacket for sitting on the porch.

Also warm here, got to 50 today. Of course this will be short lived. It will be warm again tomorrow but it will start to cool off on Friday, and by Sunday there will be snow.

ET21

Going for mid-upper 50s for today, probably one of the best December days we've had in a while.

Our first decent chance of accumulating snow this weekend, but ahead of it today is nothing but rain. We could use it though, been a bit dry for the beginning of the month.

We had a freezing fog advisory last night, although in my immediate area it didn't appear to amount more than typical frost on the windshield.

I'm in Salt Lake right now where it looks like we're finally going to get some snow. A weak storm will move through today, but it looks like it won't drop much more than a couple inches in the mountains and maybe a dusting in the valleys. What it will do is bring in some colder air at mid-levels of the atmosphere, which will break the inversion and give us a relief from the haze and smog we've had for much of this week.

Another storm comes tomorrow, and this one will be more substantial. Winter storm watches have been issued for the central and southern mountains, which are currently expected to see 8-16 inches of snow. Far northern mountains will probably see closer to the 6" range, while valleys will get 1-3 inches. Not a huge valley storm by any means, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had over 100 car accidents across the Wasatch Front tomorrow. It hasn't snowed more than a dusting in almost a month and I can just about guarantee everybody forgot how to drive in it.

After that, it looks like we'll be in a fairly good pattern with weak to moderate storms every couple days. Nothing huge, but it builds our snowpack and should keep the inversion away.

I could be receiving up to one inch of snow tomorrow, but since the high will be 35, it may not last long. Down south in the Boston Mountains, where temperatures are on average five degrees cooler, up to five inches may fall there.

Glorious weekend, upper 60s (felt a little cooler due to the breeze) and sunny. Perfect weather for Wreaths Across America yesterday at Arlington Cemetery (my father is in the columbarium seen here).

Today it's rainy. The worst thing about rainy mornings in December is how dark it is getting out of bed, but at least it isn't all that cold this morning (around 41°). Telecommuting helps a lot, of course–I get up at 7:00, but if I had to head downtown I'd get up an hour earlier.

Possible snow Wednesday. None of the forecast models can seem to agree on where the rain/snow line will be. Some models show my neighborhood's area getting a dusting, others show six inches.

Back to a boring week of weather. Right around average (low 30s) with sunshine through Friday. Maybe some snow Tuesday night

Got our third snowfall of the season overnight Saturday.  I was going to wait till after church to take a picture to post, because the light would be better, but it was pretty much all gone by the time church let out.

We might get our fourth tomorrow, though.

Meanwhile, out southwest near Meade, our friends' parents measured 13 inches on the ground.
