August 8th is When ESPN The Ocho will appear. Wow This parody is so true today except its with NBC Sports though given the fact that NBC Sports Net has 3 national feeds from the Olympics channel, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Net plus some regional NBC Sports Net Channels like NBC Sports Bay Area.

Apparently their first offering (midnight) will be the Disc Golf world championships, and then some sort of Ultimate final at 7 PM. So among whatever they show is that legitimate sport. (AUDL is starting to get some video time on ESPN, so eventually you'll see it on a regular channel.)

Only 2.5 hours of Darts? it seems that while standing behind the ochy is somehow 'Ocho' worthy, they won't show much. We get about 25 hours of the Worlds Darts Championships on main channels. Seriously - even when we only had 5 channels, we would have one channel locked up for a weekend with Darts.

We also get Kabaddi (an Indian sport, though only because I saw it on the list of Ocho stuff, in the TV guide on the UK sports channels for the next couple of days, and looked it up) on the telly, somewhat random games live, for the reason that why not - what sport happens live at 10-11am British Time? Not a lot.

Bummed that I forgot to watch the Disc Golf at midnight. "Headis" is a rather amusing game-think ping pong table, volleyball, and all contact with the ball is via the players' heads. Amazing how much spin they can put on a serve. The Ultimate Frisbee scheduled for later this evening is a replay from over the weekend.

No lawnmower racing, as foretold in Dodgeball?

Humph.
