Overtime is so driven by the coin toss - if Atlanta won it, might it have been a different story??

Then again, Atlanta came out at half-time very tired from the get go. What were they doing / drinking while Gaga was on?

Atlanta looked gassed more and more as the 2nd half progressed. Should have better used their time outs, but did have to burn one with the challenge. The sack and ensuing penalty pushing them out of FG range did them in.

Atlanta couldn't stay on the field with their offense it absolutely was a big problem as the game progressed:

New England controlled the ball for two thirds of the game, Atlanta had the ball for not even 21 minutes.  Tom Brady threw 62 passes to Matt Ryan's 23, New England had 37 1st down to the Falcons 17.  Basically Atlanta did everything they had to do up until the score was 28-3, they literally had all the breaks and capitalized at every turn.  From that point on they couldn't make a single stop, they couldn't stay on the field, and they couldn't stay in scoring position...literally they did nothing and New England completely capitalized on every last opportunity they were given.  I guess that's what really is amazing about the game last night, it is rare you see such a reversal but the numbers in the box score explain why it happened.

Atlanta really blew it. They scored no points after going up 28-3 if they had just gotten one field goal they likely would have won. When Ryan took the sack instead of throwing it away I believe that was the big play that gave the game away.

I just want to see a good game, not a rehash of almost every 80s and 90s Super Bowl blow out.

Yeah, I know the Super Bowl used to have that reputation for producing mostly clunker games. Those of us that are younger have been spoiled, since over the past 20 years the Super Bowls have almost all been good games, with about half of them coming down to the wire, and only a small few that were blowouts (SEA/DEN, TB/OAK, BAL/NYG)

I saw a Downfall parody clip about Super Bowl LI. That's never gets old.
