I tried logging into Facebook today on Sunday May 6 and it is saying that page cannot be displayed.  I have tried the last hour a few times and keeps on not going there and the "Page Cannot Be Displayed" is featured with a advice to refresh or try another page.

Hope its just routine maintenance and not a takeover Lol!

I'm glad I don't have Fakebook :sombrero:.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

x2. My day is not ruined by this event.
Runnin' roads and polishin' rails.

No I use the social media website to talk to friends in other cities.  I do not get involved in the fake news on there, especially these days where you are always hearing stuff about politics from both sides.  I have many friends who love Trump and there are many I know who hate him.

Then my religious friends cannot stop bickering over their ideals and events in politics that effect their own beliefs.

I stick to just roads and communicating.  Most of the time its PMs and such.

Must be a problem with your login.  Been working fine for me all morning.

I'll echo froggie.  I've had no problem accessing Facebook from either my home computer or phone today.

jakeroot

Yeah, no issues over here either. I used it a couple hours ago, and just now, without any problems.

I kind of enjoy pages like Yosemite History, California Historic Highways, and California History.  Since I migrated my photos to Flickr I really only use Facebook for blog entries for all the Gribblenation sites in addition to talking to family members I otherwise would have no access to.

I wonder if it is related to the Senate hearing?
Well, that's just like your opinion man...

I wonder if there was a "disturbance in the force" this morning. The computers at my *day job* were all moving in slow motion this morning and one  of our online services was down for a short time.
Please, don't sue Alex & Andy over what I wrote above

Bookface was down?  I could not have cared less about that, but it explains why my friend, a hopeless social media addict, was bitchy yesterday.

There's a whole bunch of shit that people tell me I need to be involved in that I don't want.

:pan:
Don’t ask me how I know.  Just understand that I do.

Facebook is great for learning which of the people you grew up with are racist.

roadman65

I used it at Racetrac gas station near my house again. I think its Sonic Wall, who they use to block the porn sites and such as on my phone there Sonic Wall came up with blocked as "Site was from Ireland." which blows my mind as what the hell does a well known and popular site being blocked and accused of originating its data from Ireland?

On my laptop, just the site can't be reached mumbo jumbo.  So it might be Sonic Wall being pricks as they are with youtube as well.  I once went to the Hooters by Orlando Airport and I could not look at my youtube videos there as Sonic Wall blocked anything youtube there.

What the hell is SonicWALL? And who the hell put it on your devices? Are you younger than I thought? :-D

I don't know why everyone is so proud of their abstinence from Facebook. It's a great way to connect with old friends and family. It's had its various security issues over the years, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't use it. I doubt Facebook collects anything more than what Google has already collected from you guys. And if you don't use Google, well, I don't know how you get by.

About the only thing it does for me is remind me why I chose not to stay connected with them in other ways beforehand.

I haven't had this issue just yet. But don't be too stubborn. Friendship is a two way street.

I don't want to be friends with a good number of people on Facebook. It is full of the people who I went to school with, in a rural town of 1200, and I have little to nothing in common with the vast majority of them anymore after moving to the third-largest city in my state. Other than the idle curiosity of "oh, I wonder what so-and-so turned out to be like" there's not much value in it for me.

The only reason I have a Facebook account is because one is required to run a business page. A fun bonus is being able to more easily share stuff with friends that I see daily, and seeing updates from roadgeeks. But I didn't even have one until 2015 or so.

I assume plenty of them have moved away, too. That's what seems to happen in small towns; it certainly happened in the town where my mom grew up.
