I don't think pushback against Walmart locations has been as organized, or generated as much publicity, as the recent efforts against Buc-ee's locations.
Here in Lawton we have two Walmart Supercenter locations, plus a smaller Walmart Neighborhood Market store. When the first one opened in the late 1990's the main opposition was a local grocery store operator who had a monopoly on the market. Most locals wanted the new Walmart built. The second one was built a few years later on the West side of town, across 67th Street from a high income neighborhood. A few of the mansion owners complained to the city council, but the store was approved anyway. There was no resistance to the more recently built Neighborhood market store on the South side of town.
Most of the complaints about Walmart are general in nature -what the company has been doing to kill a lot of small, local businesses. It's not so much a location-specific thing. I think some of that general heat has lifted a bit on Walmart because we have so many of these damned dollar stores all over the place now.

If I'm remembering the numbers correctly, the number of people aged 21-ish who attend church regularly has risen from 1 in 20 to 1 in 7. (Someone else, correct me if I'm wrong.) Nearly tripling is not what I'd call 'marginal growth'.
Not saying you're wrong, but I'd be shocked if it were that high.
Quote from: JayhawkCO on April 21, 2025, 05:25:15 PMThe League One and League Two promotion races are pretty interesting. Less so for the Championship. The Championship only got boring about three games ago (less than 2 weeks ago) when Sheffield started to fall behind the pace, handing the two automatics to Leeds and Burnley yesterday. And lets not forget that on Thursday every team from 14th up had a mathematical possibility to go up (and every team from 12th down was mathematically possible to go down). It's still the case that 10th can make the play offs.

Qualifying photos will show a route numbered in the eighties meeting a different route numbered in the eighties.
