QuoteA transport truck smashed into a toll booth and six other vehicles on a highway in central Mexico Saturday, leaving at least 19 people dead and three injured, authorities said.
The brakes on the truck, which was transporting shampoo base, apparently failed before it crashed into the toll booth and then the vehicles, igniting a large fire on the highway connecting Mexico City with Puebla state, said a statement from Mexico’s Federal Roads and Bridges and Related Services agency. The accident occurred in Mexico State.
The agency raised the death toll to 19 late Saturday.
Traffic-cam video showing the crash, with the truck apparently going the wrong way after passing through the toll booth: (might be disturbing to some) https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/metropoli/video-captan-momento-del-accidente-en-la-autopista-mexico-puebla
wrong way?
looks an bit like they over shooter the lane the other way and they have reversible toll booths.
But look at the backup how is ETC going there / FULL SPEED ETC LANES?
Yeah, total wrong way driver. Horrible. :wow:

wrong way as in took an reversible toll lane the wrong way and only off by one but at the speed it was going did the drive try to not hit the line of cars stacked up waiting to pay the toll from the other side?
also it seems like that you need to make an BIG move to right from the main lanes based on how many lanes are open for the way you are going.
Same thing happened in Stratford, CT on 95 in 1983. I hope regenerative braking can put an end to such gruesome accidents
