The 3rd and 4th one of those seem magnificent.

The 3rd one was constructed in about 2009 or so.  I first drove it in 2010.
The 4th one was constructed a year or two later.  I think I first drove it in 2012.

While many freeways in Mexico are in excellent condition, by and large they are all toll roads.

Free roads generally have cross traffic, and conditions vary wildly.  For example, here are three I'm very familiar with:

I-840 was starting to look really bad in Williamson County, however, they are repaving.  The road was built with disjoints and potholes were popping up.

Parts of US-101 Bayshore Freeway in San Francisco was repaved recently.

None of those are freeways.

All three of those are examples from the same freeway.

I looked at it. That has to be the first dirt freeway I have ever seen.

What are you talking about?  Those links go to an asphalt divided toll road.

Well not dirt, but certainly not like anything I've seen in America.

Roads in Mexico aren't the same as in the United States  :-o

There are plenty of excellent freeways in Mexico.  Here are some I've personally had the pleasure to drive on:

Have you been on 40D? That looks like an amazing road! It has so many bridges and tunnels. I stopped counting at 100 tunnels, and didn't even emattempt to count bridges. Anyway, only one is interesting, that being the Baluarte Bridge, at 1,280 ft high! That is 325 feet higher than the royal gorge bridge!

You weren't asking me, were you?  Because the third and fourth ones I linked to are 40D.  Just not the part of it you're referring to.  I've never driven the stretch from Durango to Sinaloa, but member |US 41| has.

US-23 south of Ann Arbor especially. Not only does US-23 need an extra lane in each direction and in places maybe two extra lanes but the pavement quality is crap. When is MDOT ever going to address the problem that is US-23 between Flint and the Ohio line? Seriously it's like they don't even know the highway exists it's so neglected.  US-23 is more of a pain the ass than I-75 is.

I-69 south of I-94 to the MI state line was pretty bad as well.

I did not really enjoy driving on Highbury Avenue in London, ON. Compared to other freeways, it's relatively not pleasant.

I recently saw a driving video traveling along some freeway or parkway in the NYC Metro area.  Not sure of which one it was, but the median had no jersey barrier -- just some 1960's era guardrail that looked like every inch of it was either dented or chewed up over it's lifespan.

The roadway didn't look so hot, either.

I need to know why it looks like there was an earthquake in the Midwest.

You are aware, right, that we've been having earthquakes here lately?

Recent activity here in Wichita, KS

03/14/2021 @ 06:29 – magnitude 3.4
03/14/2021 @ 06:31 – magnitude 3.5
03/14/2021 @ 07:02 – magnitude 3.0
03/14/2021 @ 08:30 – magnitude 2.4
03/14/2021 @ 18:08 – magnitude 3.9
03/14/2021 @ 22:01 – magnitude 1.8
03/15/2021 @ 08:52 – magnitude 3.1
03/15/2021 @ 08:59 – magnitude 3.2

My dad's bathroom light bulb broke from the second one while he was on the toilet Sunday morning, and some friends of ours now have a buckled front porch with boards that won't fit back into place.

All the tremors have been located 5 km underground, and all within a half-mile of Charles and David Koch's property.  So, as I figure it, Charles Koch must be digging a hole to the center of the earth.  It's the only explanation.

Yes, I know, I lived in Oklahoma and that was a problem, but to have that much damage, it would have to be a big one. I'm not sure what magnitude an earthquake has to be to cause liquefaction, but that is the only way I can see this happening. The most damage an earthquake did in Oklahoma was knocking things off shelves and tables.

I hit a deer at MM 12 about 7 months ago. The deer was just standing in the left lane in the northbound direction it was pitch black out and I didn't see it until the last split second before I clocked it. I ended up totaling my car and got a ride to Dundee but man what a stupid place for a deer to be standing. When I went back to the Summerfield exit to the junk yard next to the highway to get the stuff out of my car a few days later I realized how close to the highway the trees are in that area.

LOL nah but I cracked a joke with the wrecker driver since this happened two days after the election I said well maybe he didn't like the results of the election and he figures he has nothing left to live for.

It sucked waiting there for the Monroe County sheriff's deputy to show up though.

Even though I lost a car out of it (the car I have now is three times better than that car) that's the least of my worries with US-23. The pavement quality is in poor condition in many stretches and it's only four lanes when it should be at least six.

I hate that highway.
