I made a return trip to Soda Lake Road and Carrizo Plains National Monument this morning.  Soda Lake Road is one of the more notable Central California backroads which connects from CA 166/CA 33 north 45 miles through Carrizo Plain to CA 58.  I summarized Soda Lake Road over on Gribblenation on Facebook just a short time ago:

I'll have a blog up soon but the full photo album of Soda Lake Road can be found here:

Put some priority into finishing the Soda Lake blog:

The most obvious question that I think will come up with Soda Lake Road is can a car make it?  The answer is; very easily...it's one of the best dirt roads I've ever driven on.  I was cruising over 50 MPH on dirt segment north of Traver Ranch for quite awhile.

Looks like an interesting back country drive.  Looks like the road could be subject to flooding.

Those pictures of farm/ranch equipment - was that part of a self-guided tour, or roadside remnants?

Self guided tour at a ranch the Bureau of Land Management purchased.
