The 1-2-3 Interstate Highway Shield Challenge

Inspired by other countless 1-2-3 sign threads, I've decided to give this one a try. Basically this serves the same purpose as the others in that we will try to find every instance of an Interstate sign that exists. (i.e., if someone were to post I-295, then the next number must be posted, even though it is several numbers away) Errors, former, future and H-series routes do count; you may also use either state-named or neutered shields, and we need only one state for the example you posted. You must wait at least 48 hours or five pictures (whichever comes first) before posting another one, except if no one does so within that timeframe, you may continue as normal with the next number. However, no fakes, website-generated routes, drawings or hyperlinks (except to Google Maps) will be allowed.

Now that we're set, I will begin the honors with H-1:
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

I take it not many people have been to Oahu.

Here's an I-4

I think it's more of sign challenge thread saturation then people not having been to Oahu...

Maybe if the thread was more challenging, say perhaps find a state named shield for each state which the current number passes through (or a neutered shield if it's through Ohio, Oregon, etc.), then perhaps it might be a bit more interesting.

I've been posting an example of every Interstate I have in the Take-it-yourself Challenge thread (up to 220 so far, the highest number with an I route that we've reached), so I have been sitting this one out.  Maybe others will still find this one interesting, but it doesn't seem to have caught on just yet.

Also, shouldn't I-2 (not just I-H2) have been posted before moving on to I-H3?

We could just beat around the bush for this, but for the sake of simplicity, I clearly stated that one state is needed for the example posted. For example, there are many I-405s, I-295s, I-110s, etc., but to try to list all instances of each number would prove tedious, and state-named shields are not as common as they once were. So now that I-5 has been posted, the next number in the sequence would be I-8, and after that, I-10. And as for I-2 coming before H-3, maybe there is a point in that, but the point is moot now.

Tedious, but a bit more challenging. Outside of say I-110 in Texas, there's not much that is hard to find or photograph in the Interstate system.

Might as well race this along so we can get to the 3di's, when things get more interesting.  I would argue toward finding each instance of every 3-digit number used (i.e. having to post all I-405's from California, Washington, AND Oregon), but I'm not the boss.

Here is I-12

We can't do Interstate 14 just yet.  I don't believe there are even any FUTURE INTERSTATE 14 signs yet posted.

So, here's I-15:

As stated in the OP, Future Interstates do count here, and so, I will backtrack to I-11.

Meanwhile, here's the next number in the sequence, I-19 (and its accompanying Business Loop):

Some I-14 signs were posted on the AA Roads Facebook page, so someone can backfill that one if they have pictures.

Wait! We forgot I-2.

Are there any FUTURE I-3 signs up in Georgia?
