I stumped a co-worker with this one:

That one still cracks me up. I also like "Smoking or non-smoking?"  and "Get every light on the runway you can!"

Top Secret, also by ZAZ, is wall-to-wall visual puns.

Okay, it's been a week and a half and nobody bit. Prepare to groan: It's a twelve point buck.

Most people would never have gotten that one for two reasons:

1. I've never heard the phrase "twelve point buck" before, and I assume the same is true for most people.
2. The font you used is larger than normal. For most purposes (although not on this forum), 12 is the default font size.

I have. Buck as in male deer, with twelve points on its antlers.
The problem is that "twelve point buck" isn't a common phrase used in reference to something, like "couch potato" or "super bowl". There's nothing special, or particularly well known, about a buck with twelve points as opposed to three, or ten, or any other number.

Also, I'm only counting seven points, so I must be counting wrong, or overthinking it.

It's 12-point font. Very non-intuitive, because as I said before, 12 is the default in most places, not a larger than default size as it is on this forum.

You mean like a rebus? Anyone remember those?

I remember back when Colonel Sanders died, I came up with one about how I hoped a random person's "Kentucky Fried Chicken goes stale." The "goes stale" part was a drawing of a ghost and a tail (like on an animal).
Might as well face it, pooing is cool

I'm embarrassed to say how many times I watched that movie before I noticed that the shelves behind the doctor at the Mayo Clinic had jars of mayonnaise on them.

Wasn't rebus solving the final part of the puzzle solving in some TV game show? I want to say that it was Concentration.. They remind me of British style cryptic crosswords, but they fry my brain less. Ghost tail is alright. It's better than the one that I can come up right now spur off the moment with a bee and a sneeze (bee's knees.)

I never noticed that before. I think that The Simpsons had a rewatchability quotient that was high because there was often something you didn't notice until you saw the episode multiple times. The same goes for ZAZ.

The cover of the Rush album Moving Pictures is a triple entendre. It shows a crew filming men moving pieces of art; pieces of art that have moved viewers to tears.

Sounds like I took "point" way too literally. I agree though.

And Mel Brooks movies - my dad watched Blazing Saddles umpteen times before catching the "laurel and hearty handshake"  joke.

Back to Airplane!, it also took me many viewings to notice that Rex Kramer's vicious attack dog was a golden retriever.

How many have paid attention to the background sound whenever the airplane is shown?

Prop plane instead of a jet.  One of the deleted scenes from the theatrical version - which was re-inserted for the TV version - showed the crew watching the jet engines starting up to prop sounds.

And even that was half-joke, half-compromise with the studio. ZAZ wanted the movie set on a prop plane, the studio wanted it on a jet, so they went with a jet that makes propeller noises.
