Title: Ontario: Can someone explain the purpose of this sign?

I believe I first remember seeing this specific sign on the QEW Fort Erie to 420 ramp back in January 2014:

I've seen plenty of these kind of signs across the gorge in New York State, but what gets me is the "Ramp 35" on the sign. This is not exit 35, it's exit 30 I do believe. It's not usually in the style of the way the MTO does things.

Mind you, I've only seen this sign at this particular exit, but does anyone know the purpose of this?

Each ramp has its own number, that particular one is ramp 35 of the QEW-420 IC. Those signs are more for the benefit of maintenance work and for OPP, not really for any kind of guidance.
