Title: Honest question
Post by: hbelkins on October 20, 2017, 11:31:59 AM
Why haven't those other two "Honest Question" threads been locked yet? They're devolving into the same type of silliness that has gotten other threads closed recently.

Do we now have factions within the forum? We have pro-moderation and anti-moderation, pro-Alanland and anti-Alanland, pro-unrealistic fantasy proposals and anti-unrealistic fantasy proposals, etc.

edited post to remove paragraph

Also, you probably know that this thread will devolve into silliness like the other two did.

Big question is why are some users on here who have been known to be idiots toward others not been banned other than dzlabe?  Most likely cause mods don't want to jump the gun yet and actually give us the benefit of the doubt. If we really locked everything in sight there would really be no good threads and it would be like being under martial law.

Bottom line is we have to allow the bad if we want the rest of the good to remain.

It will pass if we don't fuel the flames, and what you're doing is adding another stick to the fire, sir! I'd put the stick back in the Pile of Good Threads and not in the Fire of Hopeless Threads. :bigass:

He's banned. You can check by looking in the list of members; banned members are not listed, and he's not there.

To some people he may be. To others, he isn't. Why do people like one musician and not another?

No, I mean genuinely nice.  I remember when my mother-in-law was in prison a few years ago, there was a nice lady at the next table over who was serving a life sentence for murdering her husband.  She has since remarried, and her husband visits her regularly.  She's a nice lady, from what I heard.

People change, yes.  Meeting someone who has done bad things might change your view of them, yes.  But that doesn't mean you give a criminal free rein just for coming off as a nice guy.  Cold-blooded killers stay in prison.  Banned members stay banned.

It is possible that kphoger is joking, but I'm not good at reading people, so I could not tell you if that is the case or not.  :D

But whatever the case, I will say that whoever did make that picture (maybe it was US71) did a pretty good job. So kudos to whoever it was (even if they aren't on this forum).

I literally just said that I got the point.

Yeah, but he had taken the time to drawn the little picture, then hosted it to a host site, and then embedded it in a forum post.  It'd be a shame to waste all that effort.

Why waste the effort when someone else has already?

US 71, did you make it before that post? I really had mixed opinions about your post kphoger, made me think hard.

So have we resolved this or shall we keep beating a dead horse?

Might as well lock it, this is so off topic now.

I have a feeling we have a US Route (his name shall not be spoken!) roaming this thread... :hmmm:

He is Mod(ifying)orating our posts and signatures... :hmmm: :-D

Wait, did Magical Place of Destiny get filtered to post a different way?

EDIT: Yes, yes it did (What I typed was "A l a n l a n d" without spaces).

Such as me? I have done NO modifications. Others may have, but I have not. I don't play those games.

If people had manually modified your posts, there would be a 'last edited by' line at the bottom.  If you don't see that, then it hasn't been manually modified by any Admins/Mods, or even yourself.

Now, could a mod have added a word filter that affects the whole forum whenever somebody posts a word? Yes.  That wouldn't cause the forum to get tagged with the 'last edited by' line.  However, we will not confirm or deny what words may be on that list.

I have nothing against US71, as he has done nothing to me. I was clearly being sarcastic.

I don't really care, I just found it humorous to come check replies to this thread and find some interesting modifications...

Not everyone's computers are equipped with the sarcasm font, so you may have to start letting people know who are bereft of this feature.

I mentioned this in another thread, but maybe [sarcasm] and [/sarcasm] should be "censored" into formatting tags similar to the current Tapatalk messages.

Example: [sarcasm] Thanks. [/sarcasm] → Thanks.

(Colors to be avoided: purple (moderator), red (/me), and anything too close to white or light green.)
