Acceptable and unacceptable eulogies

So, in light of my "RIP Rush Limbaugh" thread being locked despite no vitriol being posted in it, in what appears to be another arbitrary decision made anonymously by a moderator, I have to ask: Which eulogies and RIPs are acceptable and which aren't?

A search of "RIP" in Off-Topic yields only a handful (Glen Campbell, David Ogden Stiers, and Hugh Hefner were ones I noted) but there have been other posts about the deaths of significant people. Neil Peart and Eddie Van Halen come quickly to mind from last year.

What would happen if someone memorialized the death of Howard Stern? Dan Rather? Would those threads be locked as well?

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Part of the TOS you accept when using the forum is to avoid political content. I would refrain from eulogizing anyone political in here.

Considering the first comment was "no", it was bound to get locked.

I'm sure this thread was the same reason too. Since no one needs to know about my personal feelings.

And we can't stop this one from becoming political. I'm going to leave it at: Can the politics or warnings will ensue.
