How Many "State" 2dis Have You Been On? Clinched?

When I'm clinching, while I obviously want to clinch the whole highway, I go out of my way to clinch a particular state's portion or at least travel a bit of it to cross off the list.

If you include the Alaska, Hawai'i, and Puerto Rico 2dis, by my count, we have 248 "segments" to clinch. Was just curious if a) anyone specifically tries to do this, and b) anyone else has similar clinches or more.

Bold I have clinched the state (or whole interstate if that's bolded as well).
Italics I have clinched one of the separate versions of the highway (i.e. 86 West vs. 86 East).
Strikethrough I have not travelled.

I have been on 229 of the 248 for 92.3%

Interestingly, I have been on I-69 in every state that it exists, but have not clinched any state's portion. I also have about 60% of I-40, but only two of its eight states clinched.

Bolded are full highways clinched (or both versions clinched) and italicized means I have one of the versions, but not the other.

Nope.  Just try to clinch the routes themselves.  Clinching just state segments is silly.

Well, put it this way, if I only have two miles left in a state to knock it out, that annoys me, so I make a point to just finish it up.

For me, I-65 in KY is like that. Only part of the route I haven't been on is the northernmost 4000 feet or so, as every time I'm on I-65 in the state, I switch to I-71 at its northernmost interchange in the state (or vice versa), right before it crosses into IN.

Never done this, but I like it as a concept for longer routes (like I-90, for example, where I have almost 2,000 miles of logged travels but am still far from clinching the whole route). Unsurprisingly, my segments traveled/clinched are skewed heavily towards the higher numbers, since those tend to be located in the northern and eastern parts of the country where I've done the most traveling.

I-95: CT, DE, DC, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VA
I-99: NY, PA

In total, I have been on 80/248 segments (32.3%) and clinched 23/248 (9.3%).
(And yes... I-37 is somehow, almost impossibly, my only full 2di clinch!)

The only interstates I have clinched completely are I-68, I-88(E), and I-84(E). Just listing those first as to not be redundant. For every other interstate, here's what I've traveled and clinched by state, with clinched segments being in bold.

55: IL, MO, AR, TN, MS
59: MS
64: VA, WV, KY (and in KY, I'm only missing the portion from the Indiana state line to the I-65 interchange in downtown Louisville)
65:KY, TN, AL
66: VA, I guess technically I've clinched the DC portion, the whole mile and a half of it.

Not sure if there's any super interesting patterns here. 55, 94, and 95 are the long routes where I nearly have every state. 95 is probably the most impressive, that drive through Florida was one very, very long day. And it was only a few months after that very long drive through Maine.
I'm curious to do this with US Routes now, but that would take very long to figure out.

I'm impressed you haven't been on I-35 in OK. ;-)

Jim

I'll do mine by a TM DB query.  The middle column is the miles I've traveled on that route in that state and the last column is a 1 if I've clinched the route in that state.  Some, like I-11 and NC's I-87, were traveled before the routes were designated.  I believe only the western I-86 is not listed at all, as I have no travels on that route.  Others omit states where I have no travels (such as I-59 in LA and GA).
