What a mess. Amazing that no one was hurt.If they were thinking of replacing it anyway, maybe now's the time.
Thank goodness they have another Interstate bridge that feeds into downtown (it's fairly wide but not as much capacity as the Brent Spence Bridge).
Heard the Roebling is closed due to trucks using it over this fiasco.
When did they double deck the BS bridge?
Do you happen to have seen how wide the narrowed lanes are? That may have been a contributing factor in the accident.

While I-75 north of downtown is undergoing a makeover, they may as well build a new bridge while they're at it instead of slapping temporary Band-aids on the existing one.
Let's wait and see what kind of shape that upper deck is in. That was an awfully hot fire.

The detour route is a mess if you look at the traffic cams, even at 8 PM. The problem seems to be the ramp from I-275 to I-471 north, which is only one lane and is a left exit. Unfortunately, nowhere to even restripe for a temporary second lane.
