Dallas terminus of US 175?

I think the conventional wisdom is that US 175 ends at its interchange with I-45, and that may indeed be true.  On the other hand, there are a few things to suggest the designation might actually continue a fraction of a mile further up Cesar Chavez, ending at Grand Av:

  • Heading north on SM Wright Fwy, at the onramp leading to I-45, a sign says "WEST 175" (not "END 175").
  • Just ahead from there, the road splits: right to Good Latimer, left to Cesar Chavez.  If you follow Chavez, you encounter a sign just past Grand Av that says "State Maintenance Ends".
  • Heading northeast on Grand Av, an "EAST 175" (not "TO 175") sign points to southbound Cesar Chavez.
These could be coincidences, but there are enough of them to warrant the question: can anyone cite official info that specifies whether or not the US 175 designation continues up to Grand Av?

Here's what the TxDot highway designation file has to say about it.
Minute Order 090811, dated 09/26/1990; Adm. Ltr. 002-1990, 12/13/1990
In Dallas, from the junction of SS 559 and Forest Ave, southeastward via Kaufman and Athens to US 69 in Jacksonville;

Spur 559 existed on Good-Latimer Expy from 1987-1991, after US 75 was decomissioned south of Dallas. Forest Av is now MLK Blvd.
The intersection mentioned is two blocks down from I-45.

If correct, that would be strange... because if US 175 ends at MLK, then what is the designation of the road between MLK and I-45?

Further down that webpage, the last entry is a "Corrected Description", and it says "From IH 45 in Dallas..."

State maintenance can cover ramps without being designated a route. Now to me the question is, how does Texas typically designate its route ends? Is it at the centerline of the crossing highway or at the end of the interchange? It would seem that US 175 does the latter, although I-290 in MA ends at the centerline but is signed through to the end of the interchange. Same with US 13 and US 1 in PA, I believe.
