US 340 has two ways to continue on US 15 North at its northern end in Frederick.  You can take the right-hand loop ramp or the left at the traffic light.

Not sure if this counts but I often do it and have seen others do it.  While on South I-83/East US 322 in Harrisburg, approaching the Eisenhower, you can use US 322 to the exit for Paxton St to merge back onto 83 South without having to stop.  This eliminates the left hand merge with I-283’s ramp and then US 322 West’s ramp.

Looks like we won’t see the Marshall bypass (via SL-390 for half of it) anytime soon, just early ROW acquisition for 2024-2026

Construction won’t start until 2028, meaning the private Texas Super-2 Tollway 49 would be extended by the early 2030s a decade from now

I was over at the Schuyler service area today (the "level 1" service area).  It's interesting.  The bathrooms are the same size as the base "level 2" service areas (the small ones), but aren't split, so all six stalls are in the same place.  There's also plenty of seating (relative to its size), which is again interesting because the convenience store has no true food items (not even subs/pizza/hot dogs like they do at the other service areas) and Dunkin doesn't have much in the way of food either.  Basically, it's a good place for a bathroom break, since the lack of food options keeps it lightly patronized while the bathrooms are the same size as at the next size up service area (and much better laid out).

Interesting. I'm still really curious about the data that was used to determine which areas got which level service area (guide here for reference). Schuyler is one that makes sense, since Iroquois is only 17 miles away (quite close by Thruway standards) and some of the Mohawk Valley ones in general I'd expect to be more lightly used.

But I can't figure out any rhyme or reason to the levels between Rochester and Utica, especially WB. Chittenango, the only WB area between Utica and Syracuse, is only a level 2, and therefore Warners is the only service area above a level 2 between Rochester and Utica. You'd think anyone coming to/from the Syracuse area would be more likely to stop at Junius Ponds or Seneca, yet those are both only level 2. EB makes a little more sense with Clifton Springs being level 3 and Oneida being level 2A, but then after Oneida there's nothing above a level 2 until Albany; it seems like either Mohawk or Guilderland (or maybe both) should be level 2A.

I've been perusing the Google reviews on the areas that have reopened, and the difference in level 2 reviews vs. level 2A/2B/3 reviews is vast. The small ones are really not well liked, with reviews taking a big downturn after the reopenings, while the larger ones have been mixed but more positive overall. Junius Ponds and Chittenango in particular seem to be despised - but there again, Warners is the only 2A between Utica and Rochester and it's currently closed, so with those two being as small as they are, there's going to be some overcrowding issues until Warners reopens.

Work on I-65 and I-80/94 has officially wrapped up in Northwest Indiana. All lanes and ramps have been repaired and reopened.

Further downstate, work remains on the I-65 bridges over and south of Indiana 43 in Lafayette. The third lane being built is otherwise striped for use but not yet opened (likely won’t be until the bridges are completed).

With the exception of some work at the US 52 merge, all three lanes of I-65 southbound are open from just north of Indiana 47 to the south end of the work zone near Indiana 32. As you know, the old left-handed ramp to Lafayette Avenue no longer stands, and northbound traffic has been graded down to remove the old overpass. Strangely, a stub of the old C/D ramp (originally designed for those merging from Lafayette Avenue northbound - a merge that also no longer exists) still remains at the US 52 west exit. Crews have removed the temporary median barrier from I-65 northbound and will work to stripe the final configuration next week.

My guess it that is staying that way because that entire interchange will be removed soon. and US 52 will leave 65 at the new exit at 300s, they'll probably remove it when that new exit opens.

US Route 62/US Route 180 between El Paso, Texas and Carlsbad, New Mexico passes through the Guadalupe Mountains.  The Guadalupe Mountains comprise the highest peaks of Texas which are largely protected as part Guadalupe Mountains National Park.  The automotive highway through the Guadalupe Mountains was constructed in the late 1920s as part of Texas State Road 54.  US Route 62 was extended from Carlsbad through the Guadalupe Mountains to El Paso during 1932.  US Route 62 was joined in the Guadalupe Mountains by US Route 180 in 1943.  The Guadalupe Mountains comprise a portion of the 130 mile "No Services" zone on US Route 62/US Route 180 between El Paso-Carlsbad.
