Does anyone know what the speed limit is on the Overseas Highway (US 1 in the Keys)? How conjested is it?

njroadhorse

I think it's 45 daytime and 35 nighttime.  Couldn't tell you about the congestion though.

I-99... the Glen Quagmire of interstate routes??

the traffic gets pretty irritating during the day.  There are very few places to pass, so invariably you'll get stuck behind an RV for miles on end.  It's one of those drives you do once, and then are happiest to say that you never have to do again.

Actually, on most of the bridges, it's 55.

I have photos of both directions of the Overseas Highway posted on southeastroads. There may be some speed limit signs among the photos. The pages will give you a general idea of what to expect

I didn't find congestion that bad at all.  My photos are still in a backlog (coming with the next update, if it ever gets here what with all the trips I'm planning).  Most of the time we were moving at 50-60 mph.

I drove it last December. 55 outside of towns, 35 or 45 in most towns. There is no differential for nights (I drove down at night)
