What if you follow a link to Max's Flickr album of Bakersfield meet photos,

then scroll down to the photos with the Bakersfield arch in the background, some of which have the meet group in the foreground?

I guess Tom put those in another album because I do not see any of the meet group in these.

Mission failed. It is odd that it happens a lot, though there's no way those events are connected.

An easy connection would be driver and road quality... Along with cost cutting strategies

I'm not usually big on conspiracy theories, but this is the 3rd incident in less than a year where an Interstate Highway has been closed by a fire-induced bridge collapse, in addition to that ship collapsing the bridge in Baltimore.

Does that mean that you're insinuating that these events are somehow connected?

I don't want to sound crazy, but 9/11 and COVID happened during my lifetime and a foreign government trying to sabotage America's transportation infrastructure wouldn't be the weirdest thing that's happened.

Okkam razor. Why would a foreign government do something Americans are enthusiastically doing themselves? Just make sure truck driving becomes a shitty low wage job...

Hope you're doing okay health-wise.

For one data point on that, see the group photo of the Bakersfield meet last month. I'm wearing a white shirt, holding the three-wheel walker I use to get around quickly without falling, and help support me when standing. I still have balance problems, but can manage well enough to do three solo cross-country road trips in the past year (including the one I'm wrapping up today).

The other appearance change shown in that photo is my white beard. Got tired of shaving, and was pleased to find my beard was less patchy than I had expected.

I don't know what Max did, but the photo you linked to, Oscar, doesn't exist for the rest of us to see.

Stopped by Amherst, Massachusetts on my way to a project site:

My photos of the 2020 comet, coincidentally enough, were taken in a park that technically I wasn't supposed to be in at night but that rule is only enforced against people who cause trouble and no one stopped me.

About 25 years ago, my wife and I were in a closed park in Gainesville, and a policeman asked us what we were doing there.

"Stargazing" was our answer, and showed him our binoculars and star maps.

His reply: "Oh, every other couple is always lying to me. Ok, just be safe"
