Reverse direction and you've got it. Which Vancouver? There's more than one FYI.

Your move on how to get from one city to another without using a specific highway.

At the time I type this, Google is suggesting you'd save 10 minutes off that time (or 32 miles) by taking IL-47 north through Woodstock into Wisconsin, then WI-120 and US-12 to Elkhorn.

I was wondering the same thing. Not a bad time-saving route as compared to the original "˜answer' to your "˜question'.

Salt Lake City to Denver. However, all roads within the roughly rectangularish-shaped area formed by Interstates 15, 25, 70 and 80--including those interstates themselves while forming the borders of this area--are off limits.

Round 1: Find a route north of I-80.

Round 2. Find a route south of I-70.

Keeping it to numbered routes only, and staying off those interstates:

North of I-80: US 89, UT 106, US 89, (summer only: I-84, UT 167, UT 39, UT 16), UT 30, WY 89, US 30, US 189, WY 372, WY 28, US 287, WY 220, WY 487, US 30, WY 34, WY 312, WY 320, US 26, US 85, WY 219, US 85.

South of I-70: UT 68, US 6, UT 257, UT 21, UT 160, (summer only: UT 153), US 89, UT 62, UT 24, UT 95, US 191, US 491, CO 141, CO 145, CO 62, US 550, US 50, US 285.

I don't really see the point.

Challenge: Philly to NYC. You must stay in the blue areas here. If each side of the road is a different color, it is allowed. (Warning: NYTimes allows 5 free articles per month)
Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.
