Highways numbered 420 - which states have them?

Because this is post number 420 for me, I thought I might ask: what states have a highway with the number 420, and if so, how often have the signs been stolen, and what has the state done to mitigate the problem? (Also, mile markers with the number 420 as well.)

US 89

Utah has no route 420s, and only one route (US 89) is long enough for a mile marker 420. That was stolen at some point and never replaced.

Minnesota has one road with a theoretical 420 marker (US 59). I confirmed last winter that a milepost for it does not exist.

US 71 has over 420, but where it would be falls along its MN 11 duplex where 11's mileposts are used.

Ontario has King's Highway 420 but I'm not sure if that actually resonates with Canadians.

When I lived in Orange County, Florida I never found a single County Route 420 shield or street blade.

Louisiana's 420 is a minor one. Follows the west bank of the Mississippi River near New Roads.

Ohio have a SR 420; it's a short connector between I-80/90/280 and US 20 near Toledo.

There were two I-420s that were planned and cancelled; one in Louisiana (forgot which city), and the other in Atlanta.

As for mile markers, I remember Colorado renumbering a MM 420 on I-70 to 419.99 because of theft issues.

Speaking of MM 420 on I-70, also worth mentioning that exit 420 on I-70 in KS goes to US 69  :-D

I was going to mention that as well. Ontarians do generally call it 420, if that's what you're wondering. I'm not sure what else they would call it considering it's an expressway for most of its length and "Niagara Veterans Memorial Highway" is too long to use in casual conversation.

A list of worldwide route 420's can be found here:

Keep in mind that such a list isn't guaranteed to be exhaustive.

The Wikipedia article mentions this:
QuoteOwing to its association with the number 420 in cannabis culture, Highway 420 is also the location for the annual Cannabis Conference and Protest, usually taking place sometime around April 20. The event includes a march beginning near Niagara Falls and travelling to Highway 420.

The planned I-420 in Louisiana was a bypass of Monroe.
The Georgia I-420 was partially completed, but was cancelled halfway through due to freeway revolts and is now signed as SR 166.

Honestly, I really want that MM 419.99 sign. For no other reason than it is the only mile marker I can think of that measures to the hundredths.
I build roads on Minecraft. Like, really good roads.

Pretty sure I-420 was only intended to apply to the segment of that freeway east of I-75/85, so the only part of I-420 that was ever built was that little segment of 166 from 75/85 east to Lakewood Ave. Langford Parkway (SR 166 freeway) most definitely is not built to anything resembling interstate standards.

Virginia has an unsigned SR 420- Seminary Road in Alexandria. Never been signed, so you can't steal one.
South Carolina has one very short one in Greenwood Co. I don't know, but I doubt much gets stolen off that.
North Carolina, for all its state roads, does not have a 420.

There was a post by NE2 detailing all routes 69, 420, and 666, including renumbered routes (and the routes that were renumbered explicitly due to having that number were in bold), but I can't find it.

IN 420 was the original number of the Borman Expressway running from the Illinois line to Gary before it was connected to the interstate system and became I-80/90/294, then later changed to I-80/94.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

In addition, US 420 was the originally-planned number for what is now US 14 Alternate from Cody to Deaver, WY. It was replaced by an extended US 116 in 1933, which was then replaced by an extended US 14. In 1940, US 14 was routed to the south on a new alignment, and the old road was downgraded to a state route, but in 1965, the current designation was put in place.

I would renumber US 97 as US 420 because it's southern terminus is at Weed, CA :D. Also, it meets US 20, so numbering makes sense that way.

KY 420 runs through downtown Frankfort. At one point, it runs along Capitol Avenue as the main approach to the state capitol building. It also runs, as part of two one-way streets, in front of KYTC headquarters.

The official description:

KY  420,  from  the  junction  with  US  127,  via  Old  Lawrenceburg  Road  to  the junction with KY 676 (East-West Connector). Also from another junction with KY 676 (East-West Connector), via Old Lawrenceburg Road, Todd Street, and Capitol Avenue in Frankfort to the junctionwith US 60 (Second Street) in Frankfort. Also, from anotherjunction with US 60 at the north limits of the Kentucky River Bridge, via West Main Street,  High  Street,  and  Mero  Street  to  the  junction with  US  127  at  the  Wilkinson Boulevard (to include the non-cardinal direction couplet of West Clinton Street: from Wilkinson Boulevard to Ann Street; Ann Street: from West Clinton Street to West Main Street; and West Main Street: from Ann Street to High Street), a distance of 4.732 miles. (MP 0.000 to MP 2.145)(MP 2.145 to MP 4.122)(MP 4.122 to MP4.732)

I've never noticed an issue with the theft of signs.

Concerning 420 mile markers, I can confirm that at least in the eastbound direction, there is not one on on I-70 in Colorado, nor is there a cutesy substitute like 419.99. There's a two-mile gap between mile markers 419 and 421.

(In a similar vein, the mile markers on US 2 in Montana start at 665; there are none for miles 666 or 667. The route is slightly more than 667 miles long in the state.)

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Nothing in Colorado.  That would likely be one of the most stolen signs in the country.

Kentucky has the best one because part of KY-420 uses High Street in Frankfort.

N-420 was the second longest national road in Spain (only N-340 was longer). It now has a gap in the middle, and may be truncated for good, as one of the sections is a natural continuation of another route...
Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.
