I'll give a hint here now that we're getting into the second round of guesses: There's an odd-number digit in the number.

Second hint to not drag this on for so long: It's divisible by 5.

Quote from: jakeroot on August 19, 2021, 12:14:42 PM
Oh Jesus, it's not divisible by 10?

Says who?  Every number that's divisible by ten is also divisible by five.
Keep right except to pass.  Yes.  You.

Poor wording. Meant to say "a factor of 10".

Same point.  He didn't say it isn't a factor multiple of ten.

Nope for both

But his "divisible by 5" hint is quite clearly a hint unto itself that the limit ends in 5 (numbers not divisible by 10), since the game only allows limits ending in '5' or '0'.

To make this go faster I am temporarily allowing guesses after 12 hours instead of 24 after your last guess.

It can't be 20, based on your hint.

It can't be 20, based on your hint.

I also don't think it can be 110 based on the earlier "divisible by 5" hint. Unless that hint was actually a non-hint.

edit: if we are to take "an odd-number digit" literally, it also cannot be 35, 95, 105, nor 115 since those all contain more than one odd-digit.

Not sure if these hints are actually helpful.

There's only 6 numbers left from my number bank.

Well, 5, as I'll straight up say here that 110 is not it.

Third hint. Green arrow is the location of the street view image.

Oh man. 20 km/h is also out, as it doesn't contain an odd digit.

There's only two reasonable choices left, and I'm probably still going to get it wrong...

95 km/h?

35 km/h
Correct. It's on the southbound lanes on the south of the Sanxianzhou Bridge across the Min River in Fuzhou. Map of location. This is the first x5 km/h speed limit I've seen in China that's not a 5 km/h occasionally signed for a parking garage entrance. And yes, I think the speed limit is too low, and something like 50 or 60 km/h would make more sense at that location, even taking in the curve to the left and center lane merge into account.

Oh no. As if getting a 50/50 wrong wasn't embarrassing enough, the only thing worse is missing a number entirely.  X-(
I thought I was choosing between 25 km/h and 95 km/h. If only I'd seen that 35 km/h was still out there, that would have made my decision a lot easier.
