Good article describing some major changes coming to this KC bottleneck in stages over the years. Congrats to KDOT for a aggressive plan to attack the problem. Whereas MODOT is putting forth weak solutions to big problems (see I-35 downtown KC for example). KDOT is attacking with big plans and long term solutions not lane narrowing and other low budget fixes.

I was at the first public meeting on the project... at the time, there were no specifics. I wasn't able to make it to this meeting due to other (read: WORK) commitments.
