There is a famous Nascar crash back in 1961 in Charlotte where a car crashes through the guardrail.  Video of it is quite spectacular. Reds Kagle survived but he lost a leg in the accident.

Same thing with the end treatments made by Trinity Industries in Dallas a few years back
