Haha I learned of the New Jersey quake while at work in Maryland, then went on my lunch break and said "this is gonna be a thread on r/maryland" (on Reddit) and that was indeed the case. People from Montgomery and P.G. reported feeling it, but I didn't in Harford, closer to the epicenter.
From the land of red, white, yellow and black.

Quote from: 1995hoo on April 05, 2024, 11:10:30 AMMy colleagues in Lower Manhattan said they definitely noticed the quake and that "engineers" have pronounced the building safe (seems like a very quick determination for a quake that was less than an hour ago).

Nah.  Can tell pretty quickly with a dinky quakey like this one.

Speaking of the Taiwan earthquake, I did not feel it here in Okinawa, though we did have to evacuate away from the coast because of a tsunami warning (the main arteries became one-way for a bit). Originally it was predicted to be a 3-meter tsunami, though fortunately it ended up being very small and not notable.

Here is a tweet showing all the cars going the same way on one of the main roads last week:

One of the major news outlets in Taiwan has video of a land slide that took place during the 2024 7.4 quake that hit the country. This is where there are reports of people reported missing is coming from.

Here is an update on the Indonesian volcano.

QuoteMANADO, Indonesia (AP) — More than 2,100 people living near an erupting on Indonesia's Sulawesi Island were evacuated Friday due to the dangers of spreading ash, falling rocks, hot volcanic clouds and the possibility of a tsunami.
Indonesia's Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation recorded at least three eruptions since Friday afternoon, with the maximum height of the eruption column reaching 1,200 meters (3,900 feet).
An international airport in Manado city, less than 100 kilometers (60 miles) from the erupting Mount Ruang, is still temporarily closed as volcanic ash was spewed into the air.
Satellite imagery from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency shows the ash has spread to the west, northwest, northeast and southeast, covering Manado and North Minahasa, according to a statement from Indonesia's Transportation Ministry
