I hope this is the right sub-thread.

The 511 logo travel info seems to be pretty universal regardless of state.

I can't find out who designed this?  is a DOT standard? I just wanted more info on it's history of design. Wiki says it started in North Dakota, but was that logo carried over or standardized later?
