Well, the flooding down there is so bad, that the waters have overrun I-575 and the Atlanta Connector...

Some areas got 22 inches of rain in the past week.  :-o

Check out my YouTube page (http://youtube.com/Bryant5493). I have numerous road videos of Metro Atlanta and other areas in the Southeast.

I just signed up on photobucket -- here's my page (http://s594.photobucket.com/albums/tt24/Bryant5493).

Also, I -285 on the west side of Atlanta, and part of I-20 west of Atlanta were closed due to flooding. Chattanooga was flooded pretty good as well. Yeah me, for being stuck in Georgia when all this happened.

^^ I hadn't heard about Chattanooga. How bad is it there?

About 30 mins. ago, I was on 285 West on the soutside, near the 5th runway, and the message boards read "I-285 open on west side of Atlanta," so that's good for drivers. But we've a long way to go.

Be well,

i think pretty much every major road is re-opened by now.  maybe some smaller 2-lane county roads that arent.  Drove past that Grands at SR 92 and Hiram-Sudie Road. was an amazing sight to see the high water mark almost to the crown of the roof.

No interstates or major roads were underwater (that I'm aware), but substantial flooding just off the roads. Off I-75 just north of the GA border, the RV dealership was submersed (hope they've got good insurance).

As far as I've read/seen, I-20, I-75/I-85 and I-285 were inundated at some point.

There are still flash flood warnings as of now in greater Atlanta. The soil is completely saturated after the 20 or so inches the area got past week, and additional 2 - 4 inches precipitation occurs every day.
