QuoteArlington County is looking to partner with transportation providers such as Uber and Lyft to offer residents rides from more remote residential areas of the county where bus service to Metro stations is limited.

For those unfamiliar with the region, the northern reaches of Arlington County are incredible wealthy and have incredible low density, both of which are well-suited for the residents who live there. Basically, the County will be subsidizing private rides of the residents who can most afford to pay for parking for pay for a taxicab.

In fact, it's a completely fair to state that the residents of north-north Arlington would be fully opposed to any rezoning which would make the area more dense, and thus more conducive to bus service.
