Title: BUS 165 Rerouted at Alexandria
Post by: US71 on November 25, 2012, 11:10:32 AM
Another observation from my trip last week, was Bus US 165 at Alexandria had been partially rerouted.

It used to begin at the 71/165 Traffic Circle, have a short duplex with Bus 167, then cross the Red River on Jackson St.

Now it begins at 71/165 just south of I-49, and follows LA 1 to Jackson St. I was last through here two years ago, it has been since 2010 that this was done.  Anyone have more information?

On a side note, the new US 71 Red River bridge is coming along. Approaches have been built and new lanes are under construction. Widening will also take out the bridge over the Kansas City Southern Railroad. I'm guessing another year before the whole project is finished.

It was done in early 2012, when the city was given Masonic Drive. The section north of the traffic circle was redesigned LA 1208-5, and Clearview used for new signs.
