Title: Franklin D. Roosevelt Parkway Proposal - 1940s (New York)
Post by: Dougtone on January 03, 2021, 09:36:49 PM
You could say that FDR was a bit of an armchair highway engineer. Upon reading a newspaper article in 1939, he started a proposal for a parkway to be built from the Taconic State Parkway to the then-future FDR Museum and Library in Hyde Park, New York. The proposed parkway was discussed between New York State and the federal government in 1940 and 1945.
