There's a very large amount of right-of-way acquisition for the freeway in this month's eminent domain: around 206 acres.

All the land is incorrectly labeled as being for US 380, but if you look at the actual parcels and maps you'll see they are all for Spur 399.

This appears to be most of the right-of-way needed for the freeway. One mile of 400-foot-wide right-of-way is 48.5 acres, so this is around 4 miles of right-of-way.

The SS-399 is part of the US-380 McKinney Project.  While it is not actually on 380, per the NTCOG planning it is part of the US-380 project.
Let's build what we need as economically as possible.

I wished they would've extended it farther eastward to bypass Princeton proper. Princeton traffic is getting as bad as 380 through McKinney.

I think the plan is to upgrade US-380 to Interstate standards from McKinney on East to Greenville and I-30. Spur 399 runs out in McKinney; no need to extend the designation Eastward along the US-380 corridor. There is a proposed bypass around the North side of Princetown.

The Dallas Morning News reported on the project today.

The McKinney Spur 399 project and timeline for completion is getting closer to reality.

Earlier this month, McKinney City Council authorized the sale of three tracts of city owned land — totaling a little over 29 acres — to the state for the construction of the project, totaling $7.8 million. Additionally, the design phase is underway as the Texas Department of Transportation works to acquire right-of-way and secure funding.

The Texas Department of Transportation's record of the decision was signed earlier this year, so TxDOT just began the design phase, said TxDOT spokesperson Madison Schein.

"The earliest that construction can begin will be 2026, that's when it will be ready to let – construction can only begin after it's awarded," Schein said.

The estimated total project costs in 2022 dollars for the proposed project are about about $755 million. A combination of federal and state funds would be used to construct the project, according to TxDOT. Currently, only partial funding has been allocated for the project.

Is there any map of the path of Spur 399 and how it will connect into US-380?
