Hello from San Diego!

Hey, guys!

I'm from San Diego, California, America's finest city. (Yeah, I know, we just lost our football team, but that's for another time.) I've had an interest in roads and transportation from an early age. Around here, I watched as the express lanes on the 15 became what they are now. I thought about going to college as a transportation engineer, but decided against it. I also like to mess about on Google Maps Street View from time to time.

I've lived here all my life, but since I'm that part of it where I become something of a restless adventurer, I want to go out and see the world. I want to possibly do the Pacific Coast Highway, or the I-95 from one end to another. I've kept up with happenings like these, and want to see them for myself.

As a question, what road do you want to go see that you haven't seen...yet?

Welcome from uninteresting Winnipeg!

As the answer to your question: tough question. I would like to see the Pacific coast highway on the west coast of California, as well as some of the more rural routes through the Rockies perhaps. Of course, there are quite a few roads I would like to see outside of the US as well.

Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

I applaud your fellow San Diegoans for standing up to NFL stupidity.  Sure, you lost your team in the process, but these NFL owners ask far too much from the public with far less public benefit in return.

Welcome from Wichita, Kansas!

Across the Congo, from Gabon to the DRC.  But I'd let someone else drive, ha!
Keep right except to pass.  Yes.  You.
Visit scenic Orleans County, NY!

Welcome!

It's a tough one - probably the Trans-Siberian Highway, even though the area is dull as ditchwater. The AH5, perhaps, along the north coast of Turkey and across to

I still don't understand why American sports are totally socialist when the rest of the world is very happy with a market approach to sports - even if the country is socialist.

Welcome from Phoenix!

You are lucky to live in SoCal, I have found myself really wanting to go there lately and explore all the freeways. I've been there before many times, but only for Disneyland and nothing else  :-|

A road I really want to see more than anything is I-70 from Cove Fort to Denver.
Come ride with me to the distant shore...

Welcome from the Rocket City!
It's all fun & games until someone summons Cthulhu and brings about the end of the world.

I also collect traffic lights, road signs, fans, and railroad crossing equipment.

Welcome from the opposite end of the country!

Hmmm road I have not yet been on that I want to do...I'd have to say US-101 and/or CA-1 (or any number of the scenic west coast highways). I have only been as far west as El Paso and Albuquerque  (the I-25 corridor) and that was only one time.

Welcome to the board! My cowebmaster should say hello from somewhere nearby in San Diego.

As for things I still want to see on the road, I'll be taking care of part of that next month on a roadtrip through Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and west Texas. My goal has been to clinch the Interstate system, and this will leave me just I-20 west of Fort Worth, I-81 north of Syracuse and two portions of I-90 on the NY Thruway (and I-790) for the original system.

Welcome from Kitchener, ON! Roads high up on my "to-drive" list would be CA 1, I-70 in CO, and more of the Trans-Canada Highway (especially through BC).

Welcome from the state of Georgia!

To answer your question, there are so many roads I haven't seen but would like to see, that I cannot recall all of them at this very moment. However, among this list is CA 1 (PCH), all of Interstate 17 (and other roads in Arizona, including some in close proximity to the Grand Canyon), The New Jersey Turnpike
Now alternating between different highway shields for my avatar - my previous highway shield avatar for the last few years was US 76.

That would be me. Greetings from San Diego! Welcome to the Forum. Hopefully you've had a chance to visit the newest freeway in San Diego County: SR 11, down by the Otay Mesa Port of Entry. Also look for construction underway soon on I-5 to expand high occupancy vehicle lanes between Del Mar and Oceanside. A major sign replacement contract was announced in the Pacific Southwest section of the Forum for Caltrans District 11, which includes San Diego. And eventually there will be new high occupancy vehicles to link I-15/SR-15 with I-805 and ultimately SR-94 leading into downtown.
Regards,
Andy

I'm in the Coachella Valley or Palm Springs area, so I'm not far from you. Except I wanna head down to san Diego on a hot summer day (30+ degree difference in fahrenheit). Nice to meet you and make yourself at home in AAroads.
Get your kicks...on Route 99! Like to turn 66 upside down. The other historic Main street of America.
