I was working through some old 2016 road albums for blog posts and came upon the infamous Blackrock Road:

If anyone remembers this is the crazy one-lane cliff-face road in eastern Fresno County with all the weird bridges and pipelines.  Open question I had though was, when the hell was the Black Rock Reservoir actually built?  PG&E seems to keep the date of construction a pretty closed secret and I can't find any resources for the Kings River Project online.

Have you driven the Mosquito Road near Placerville and the "truck route" west to SR 193? It's not as squirrely as Blackrock Road but definitely a fun and beautiful drive.

I haven't but I've had my eye on it for whenever I return to the Donner Pass/Tahoe area just for the Mosquito Bridge over the South Fork American River alone:
