The proposal, to kick in next summer after an opportunity for public comment, would use two ferry vessels to cover the Alaska Marine Highway System's Bellingham WA-southeast Alaska route, rather than the one stuffed-to-the-gills vessel now used.  Also in the package is expanded summer service to the Aleutians, which is now once a month rather than the old twice-a-month schedule.
