That's disappointing news about the Gold Line delay.  When the thing was proposed well over a decade ago, the ultimate goal was well beyond Montclair (which is the first city within San Bernardino County) -- it was to get the line out to Ontario Airport via its current projected path paralleling the Metrolink commute line and cutting south in the Euclid Ave. median through central Ontario -- which was an old P.E. corridor before WWII -- before the final eastward segment into the airport terminal.  But if this sort of delay becomes a repeating situation, it may never actually get east of Montclair -- at least in the foreseeable future.  The overall idea was to get potential airline travelers in the eastern part of L.A. County to switch to the long-underutilized Ontario Airport, taking pressure away from LAX and even Burbank; the Gold Line was to be an integral part of that program.  But the problems with getting even the L.A. County segment completed may result in San Bernardino County getting "cold feet" about the full project and its monetary requirements.

I didn't have it in the links, as it wasn't as much highway stuff, but last week Metro voted to give the additional funds to extend out to Pomona. See https://www.sgvtribune.com/2019/01/24/la-metro-gives-foothill-gold-line-97m-to-build-out-to-pomona/

It was kind of a lean month for me regarding California Highway blogs/articles (aside from the Ridge Route legacy stuff).  I'm "hoping" that the weather stays clear next weekend so I can indulge in a copious amount of Bay Area Highway stuff.  If everything holds I'm planning on the following next weekend:

Day 1

1.  I-380
2.  CA 92 west over the Santa Cruz Range
3.  CA 84 back east over the Santa Cruz Range to I-880.
4.  CA 262
5.  CA 238/I-238
6.  CA 112
7.  CA 61
8.  CA 260
9.  I-980
10. CA 242
11.  I-780

Day 2

12.  Unbuilt CA 179
13.  CA 113 from I-80 to CA 45
14.  CA 45 to CA 20
15.  CA 65 north segment
16.  CA 193
17.  CA 104

I haven't planned out something of this scope probably since 2017.  If it's a go I'm looking forward to the drive and follow-up map research.
