Why can't we use Raymond Yu's photos?

If they're the same sign as what's posted in real life, that's okay. But many of Raymond's sign "photos" are mock-ups of idealistic signage which does not always exist in the field (shields, wording, fonts, spacing, et cetera) and therefore designs of fantasy.

TBKS1

Does anybody know where a 926 might be? I've been looking through my photos but I can't seem to find a combination that adds up to 926 at all.
I take pictures of road signs, that's about it.

General rule of thumb: Just stay in the "Traffic Control" section of the forum and you'll be fine.

Unrelated to the game: Is that SR 836 shield a normal BGS shield treatment for a 3-digit state highway shield in Florida? Looks kinda weird...

Those "partial cutouts" appeared intermittently on BGSs from the 1970s-1980s, so they're rare finds now. The more common versions were rectangular shields with the Panhandle stretched out a bit for three-digits.

My guess is that they mimicked demountable copy shields, which were button copy outlines of the ground-mounted signs. You can see a progression of examples in the Shield Gallery.
