We're getting closer to the updates to the California Highway pages. The penultimate step is incorporating the July headlines, and to do that, I have to post them. So here are your headlines for July, together with an update on the California Highways: Route by Route podcast. Hopefully, you're giving that a listen as well. More will be coming out as I get them edited.

Fair change I'll be checking out Ladd Lane and the bizarre configuration in the near future.

I do plan on taking a drive on CA 236 when I stay in Ben Lomond in October.  I hiked Big Basin a couple times in 2017 and 2018, the who area was ripe for a forest fire given there was way too much overgrowth.

Looks like good progress so far on the US 395 Olancha bypass.

Also, won't mind CA 125 being toll-free.

Interesting story about short-lived California SR 212 on Valley Blvd.  I never knew about that, but will search old maps to see if I have any that labeled Valley Blvd. with that temporary number.

The David Rumsey link to the 1964 DOH Map is embedded in the 212 blog.

Isn't it the only toll facility in California that still accepts cash?

ClassicHasClass

Cash is indeed still accepted on CA 125 ( https://www.myfastrak.511sd.com/en/our-roadways ), but SANDAG has been getting beaten up over leaving toll money on the table (it's true, half the time my FasTrak doesn't get charged on the I-15 lanes: sssh!), so they may well eliminate it complete in the near future.

I take it the situation right now might be similar had they tolled the 56.
