Google MyMap of RR grade crossings on divided highways.
Pin colors are:
Green=active
Yellow=formerly at-grade, but has since been grade-separated
Red=abandoned

Is there a way to add to it?

If you message me your email address, I can share access to the map.  You might need to have a gmail account, though, I'm not sure.

I know of at least one in Kentucky, on US 68 (Russellville bypass) at KY 3519 (former US 431).

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

I went and added that, plus others from this thread.

IL-50/Cicero Ave (which is mostly seven-lane undivided) is six-lane divided when it has an at-grade crossing with a railroad line (used for Metra) just north of 95th St. Chicago has A LOT of railways, so there are probably more divided road at-grade railroad crossings

Is there a minimum speed limit to be considered a 'highway'? If not, a couple others that are missing: https://goo.gl/maps/sWDFUnrV5cGzSUnT8, https://goo.gl/maps/uDF3fQxH3v8mUqLK7

Here's one on MN-65. Speed limit is 55 here. Also of note is this interesting sign, for trucks and buses going both directions.

US 89

Not sure if this qualifies as divided, but it does have a 60 mph speed limit.

This road (north of Vancouver, WA) isn't divided currently, but it is going to have a median barrier installed soon (next year I'm assuming, I saw the contract go out to bid recently). It has a similar pullout and sign to the one a couple posts back.

There's also a set of three (1 2 3) southeast of Fairbanks on a road that's almost a full freeway. The second one's at a fairly acute angle to the road too.

The ultimate one, IMHO.  A shame it's long gone.

An animation of its operation and sound is here:  https://youtu.be/QGhFHKtDhns
Imagine living next door to that, and hearing it in the middle of the night.  The railroad is about a mile away from my home.  I don’t think I could stand something like that sounding off multiple times each night.  The STOP-DEATH-STOP lighting with the skull-and-crossbones would sure be attention-grabbing, though.

After careful review of the linked archive photos, it looks like someone actually did live right next to that crossing.  I’ll bet property values went way up on that particular parcel!  :biggrin:

I shouldn’t knock it though.  It probably saved a life.
Don’t ask me how I know.  Just understand that I do.

There are two true freeway grade crossings in Pennsylvania. Strangely enough, both are on US 322.

One is in Lewistown:

The other is just south of Hummelstown, near Hershey:

Here is my addition:

This was a connection to the old Army Ammo Plant west of Minden, LA. You can see the where the wye was in the trees just north of the interstate (connection to the KCS's former L&A "D-line") I remember when it crossed I-20 and had crossbucks at the crossing an the round advance warning signs until I-20 was repaved in the mid 80s.

A bypass of US 12 was built around Walla Walla, Washington.  It was elevated and went over many railroads it passed, except for one.  Then the road lowered to the surrounding grade to cross the railroad at grade.  It must have been considered so seldomly used that the state couldn't justify the expense of building one more bridge as part of the project.  When I finally drove over it somewhere between the late 1990s and the summer of 2001, they had recently sanded out the pavement markings and put in a new divider through the section.  Now they've since taken advantage of the lowered grade by putting in a RIRO interchange there.
