I assumed that the reason they truncated OK-37 to I-44 was so they can extend it over the East-West Connector when it's done.

I could totally see that happening. Just reroute eastbound OK-37 to the east-west connector instead of using SW 134th/SW 4th st. It would also keep them with the dumbass "3" highway rule. LOL

I'm kinda hoping they route US 277 down the EW connector just to meet its parent route once again and remove the redundancy of 277 North of Ninnekah

The only thing standing in the way of ODOT and OTA extending the US-277 designation along the East West Connector to US-77 between Moore and Norman is the agencies usually seem hesitant at applying a US Highway designation to a toll road. Look at all the jogs and turns US-277 makes from the Red River to Newcastle in order to remain on "free" routes.

IIRC, the East West Connector won't have frontage roads on its entire length. I think the bridge over the Canadian River will be limited access lanes only. It's common to have US Highway routes signed on frontage roads and then have some kind of toll designation on the toll lanes. But US-412 in Oklahoma is an exception.
