Found some plans for the proposed widening of I-84 in Danbury, CT from 6 to 8 lanes.
The EIS for this just started earlier this year and would take 2-3 years to complete.

The EIS would cover I-84 from NY to Exit 18 in Waterbury about 30 miles or so.  I-84 would be widened from 6-8 lanes from NY to Exit 8 and widened from 4 to 6 lanes from Exit 8 to 18, where it would meet up with the proposed 4-level stack in Watuerbury (currently being studied)

Exits 3-4 plan...one flaw: the on-ramp from US-7 to I-84WB would still be a left on-ramp.

It's about time, getting through the whole Waterbury-Danbury corridor is horrendous.  Especially through the four lane portions it's like the Merritt, scenic and potentially very slow.
Why can't we just connect everything and everbody

There are some short- and long-term maps for exits 9, 10, and 11 on this page: http://www.hvceo.org/transport/transport_plan3_majorcorridori84.php

The Route 25 freeway is no longer viable, but their plan for exit 11 is a real capitulation.

Kurumi: The 25 Freeway doesn't seem viable in the first place. Especially because it begins at the same interchange with CT 8 on the CT Turnpike :| - Do we actually need a CT 25 Freeway if 8 is already there?

It'd give a good chunk of the Connecticut coast (including and in particular Bridgeport, Milford, and New Haven) a freeway-grade facility to bypass the New York City area when heading to/from the west (via I-84).  Plus, since it's more viable than a CT 34 freeway, it'd provide better connection between the above-mentioned cities and Danbury.

There is now a website up so you can track the progress of the EIS currently underway.
