I recently took a drive down the scenic Otter Crest Loop, which is an old alignment of US 101 between Depoe Bay and Newport, Oregon. It's a neat little road with an historic bridge designed by Conde McCullough, scenic ocean views and a narrow one way section of road.

Come check out some photos of the Otter Crest Loop, along with a blog write-up at:

Not living on the Central Oregon Coast, it was quite a find to read about an old 101 alignment that I had not heard of.  Thank you for the great photos!  As for the weather, it was spectacularly nice for November.  Glad you got to enjoy it!

US 101 is THE backbone of the Pacific coast from Bandon OR to Willits CA.  Industry, tourism and local traffic would be gone or severely crippled without it being in functioning condition in BOTH states.

Looks like a great drive!  I'll look for it next road trip.
