The shade of freeway signs

The last full-scale sign replacement project on the concurrent portion of I-64 and I-75 near Lexington was done a number of years ago. The overhead signs installed at the US 27/68 exit were a noticeably darker shade of green than most other sign installations of that vintage.


Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

I liked the deeper shade of green that is present on older button copy gantries.  It struck me more as Michigan State Spartans colors (a team I hate but a color I like).

It varies based on reflective sheeting vendor, the sign's age, and the amount of sun the sign gets.

In Oklahoma, every sign is its own shade of green.
